Moshe Nahon Synagogue

The Moshe Nahon Synagogue features a bright blue facade that stands out against the narrow, whitewashed alleyways of the Tangier medina. Built in eighteen seventy-eight by Moise Nahon, a prominent banker, it served the city’s thriving Jewish community for decades. After the building fell into disrepair during the mid-twentieth century, descendants of the Nahon family funded a full restoration in the nineteen nineties. Today, the synagogue houses a collection of religious artifacts and serves as a quiet space for visitors.
