Kasbah Museum

The Kasbah Museum occupies the former Sultan's palace, known as Dar el Makhzen. The building features an interior courtyard decorated with intricate tilework and carved cedar wood, distinct from the stone fortifications surrounding it. In nineteen twenty, the local authorities converted the palace into a museum to house archaeological finds from the region. The collection includes a large Roman mosaic from Volubilis. Before its current use, the palace served as the residence for sultans and their representatives in Tangier for several centuries.
