The Nuevo Frontón de la Esperanza features a high, sheer wall of dressed stone that rises abruptly above the surrounding buildings in the heart of the Casco Viejo. Built in nineteen oh five, it served as a dedicated arena for pelota, the fast-paced Basque game played with a wicker racket or bare hand. Professional players once packed this court while gamblers filled the wooden stands. Its construction marked a shift toward formalizing the game within city centers, creating a permanent home for local legends.
