Athletic Club Egoitza Soziala | Ibaigane Jauregia

The Ibaigane Palace stands out with its stone walls and the dramatic rounded corner tower that reaches toward the sky like a fortress keep. Built at the turn of the twentieth century for Ramón de la Sota, a wealthy shipping magnate, the house served as a grand family residence. When the Spanish Civil War broke out, the governor of Biscay seized the property. It served as a command center and a site for intense political meetings before eventually becoming the headquarters for the Athletic Club.
