The Txabarri Jauregia catches the eye with its Flemish-style facade, dominated by high-pitched slate roofs and elaborate stone carvings that stand out against the surrounding buildings. Built in the late nineteenth century for Victor Txabarri, a powerful industrialist in the steel business, the palace served as a private residence and a showcase of his immense wealth. During the Spanish Civil War, the building was seized to house the Civil Government, and it remains a seat of provincial power today.
