The wall on the side of the downtown building displays a massive, multi-story painting of oversized, leather-bound books stacked in a chaotic pile. Painted by artist Michael Kirby in twenty fourteen, the mural covers the entire side of the building. Kirby included spines with titles that reference Utah history and local literary figures. He worked on a lift for weeks, painting the hyper-realistic textures of weathered paper and cracked binding directly onto the brick, turning a plain wall into a permanent library.
