Alfred McCune, a railroad tycoon, spent a million dollars to finish this home in nineteen oh one. He hired a dozen master craftsmen from Europe to carve the mahogany woodwork and lay the stained glass. The mansion remains a local landmark, defined by its intricate stone carvings and the ballroom that once hosted lavish parties for the city's elite.
