Deuel Log Cabin

The Deuel Log Cabin stands as a rare survivor of Salt Lake City’s earliest days, built with two rooms and joined by a central dog-trot. Osmyn Deuel constructed it in eighteen forty-seven, the same year pioneers first arrived in the valley. The cabin originally sat near the center of town before being moved to its current spot. It remains one of the few authentic structures from that first wave of settlement, complete with its original hand-hewn logs and mud-chinked walls.
