Bonifaz Strobl began this business in nineteen sixty-two, carrying on the traditional Tyrolean craft of woodcarving that dates back centuries in this region. He worked in the studio behind the storefront until his retirement, creating each piece from blocks of pine or linden wood. The shelves today remain crowded with work produced in the same small, quiet workshop.
