Originally built in nineteen twenty-four as the Chinese Mission of the Methodist Church, it served as a primary hub for immigrants who faced intense racial exclusion elsewhere in Calgary. Reverend Mah Tak-Ming worked from these rooms to help newcomers find jobs, learn English, and navigate the hostile legal landscape of early twentieth-century Canada.
