Øksnehallen features an enormous arched roof of corrugated iron and heavy red brick walls, unmistakable among the flatter, more modern buildings nearby. It served as the city’s cattle market for nearly a century, built in nineteen oh one to replace the chaotic open-air pens that once filled the Vesterbro district. Farmers drove their livestock through these doors every day. Today, the massive, unobstructed floor hosts temporary exhibitions and trade shows, still carrying the weight of its utilitarian past.
