The storefront at Crown Prince Street features a curved glass facade that leans gently into the sidewalk. Behind that glass sit chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen, specifically the Egg and the Swan, which moved from the workshops of the nineteen fifties into the permanent collection of the design world. Fritz Hansen began in eighteen seventy-two as a small cabinetmaking business, but its reputation grew when it started bending wood into shapes that furniture makers previously claimed were impossible to achieve with a single piece.
