Illums Bolighus

The glass facade of Illums Bolighus on Amagertorv displays items that seem to float against the street traffic. Kaj Dessau opened this store in nineteen forty-one with a singular goal to curate the best of Danish design under one roof. He filled the shelves with pieces from designers like Hans Wegner and Arne Jacobsen, treating household objects as high art.
