Schneider-Studio im Bohnenviertel

The Schneider Studio in Stuttgart’s Bohnenviertel features a distinct, narrow timber-framed facade that rises abruptly from the cobblestone street. Built in the seventeenth century, this structure survived the heavy bombings that leveled most of the city center during the second world war. Wilhelm Schneider, a master woodcarver, used these cramped quarters for his workshop for decades. He kept a collection of hand-carved wooden molds that once helped local bakers shape traditional spiced breads during the winter holidays.
