The Literaturhaus Stuttgart occupies a former villa built in nineteen oh four, distinguished by its tall, dark green gabled roof and carved sandstone details. It operates as a center for literary exchange, hosting readings and debates in rooms that once belonged to a private residence. During the second world war, the house survived bombings while other nearby structures burned. In the nineteen nineties, the city repurposed the villa for authors and readers to meet, keeping the original floor plan for intimate, conversational events.
