Salon des Amateurs

The Salon des Amateurs sits inside the Kunsthalle, marked by a plain glass entrance that sits flush against the gray concrete of Grabbeplatz. This space functions as both a bar and a venue for electronic music, named after the term for artists who create for the love of the craft. In the nineteen nineties, the local scene centered on the nearby Ratinger Hof, but when that club closed, the community needed a home. They found it here, amidst the concrete geometry of Düsseldorf.
