The Breidenbacher Hof carries a facade of gray stone and large windows that stands out among the modern glass buildings of the Königsallee. In eighteen hundred and twelve, Baron von Breidenbach commissioned this hotel to offer luxury to visitors in the heart of Düsseldorf. During the second world war, bombs reduced the original structure to rubble. The owners rebuilt it from the ground up, keeping the classical style. A photograph in the lobby shows the site as a dusty pile of bricks in nineteen forty-five.
