Girardet Bridge

The Girardet Bridge connects two sides of a city canal with a curved iron structure painted in a deep, dark red. It sits directly in front of the former Girardet printing house, where the massive presses of the local newspaper once shook the foundation. In the early nineteen hundreds, the bridge provided the essential path for delivery wagons to haul heavy newsprint directly from the street into the building’s loading bays. Today, the presses are gone, and the bridge remains for pedestrians.
