Church of St. Anne

religious

The Church of St. Anne sits on the corner of Batthyány Square, recognizable by its two tall, slender towers capped with green copper domes. Construction began in seventeen forty, commissioned by the Jesuits who intended for it to be one of the largest buildings in Buda. During the earthquake of seventeen sixty-three, the structure suffered heavy damage, including the collapse of its ceiling. Workers finished the interior renovations by eighteen oh five, cementing its role as a centerpiece of the neighborhood.
