Bedö House

The Bedö House is covered in sea-green ceramic tiles that ripple across its facade like frozen waves. Built in nineteen oh three by Zsigmond Quittner, the building serves as the home of the Museum of Applied Arts' collection of Hungarian Art Nouveau. Architect Emil Vidor designed it with fluid, organic lines meant to mimic the movement of water. In the early years, the ground floor held a popular cafe where architects argued over how to define the modern Hungarian style of the era.
