Hikisch-ház

The Hikisch-ház sits on the corner of the square with a facade of bright yellow plaster and white stone ornamentation. Built in the late eighteenth century, the house belonged to Antal Hikisch, a master mason who helped shape much of the district. During the nineteen forty-four siege of Budapest, a bomb struck the building and leveled the entire center section. Residents later cleared the debris and rebuilt the gap to match the original baroque style, hiding the scars of the war perfectly.
