Klauzál tér

Klauzál tér features a weathered bronze statue of Gábor Klauzál standing in the center of a tree-shaded park. The square sits atop the site of a former cattle market that operated here until the late nineteenth century. City planners transformed the muddy livestock pens into this public garden to improve sanitation and provide green space for the rapidly growing district. During the nineteen fifty-six revolution, residents used the park as a makeshift defense line, leaving behind stories of defiance that still circulate among locals.
