The Bread Bridge, or Most Chlebowy, spans the canal with a distinct, arched wooden structure that rises sharply above the water. For centuries, this crossing served as a vital link for grain merchants moving their wares into the city. In the nineteen seventies, the original bridge disappeared during urban reconstruction. Local residents spent decades pushing for its return, eventually succeeding in two thousand ten. Now, the bridge holds thousands of padlocks left by couples who toss their keys into the canal below.
