Gdańsk Old City Hall

The Old City Hall in Gdańsk features a weathered copper spire that twists into the skyline, topped by a golden statue of King Zygmunt August. While most of the city around it crumbled during the Second World War, this building survived with its walls largely intact. In the late sixteenth century, it served as the center of municipal power, where town councilors gathered to debate trade laws. Today, the Baltic Sea Cultural Center occupies the high-ceilinged halls, hosting concerts and gallery exhibitions.
