The sculpture known as El Huevo Frito sits in the center of the Plaza Bizkaia. It is a large, circular piece of white stone with a hollow, irregular opening in the middle, resembling a fried egg. Sculptor Vicente Larrea created it in two thousand and three. The stone carries deep grooves and rigid, geometric cuts that contrast with the smooth, rounded outer edge. Larrea designed the form to react to the sunlight, shifting its shadows across the plaza floor throughout the day.
