Princes Square features an intricate, art nouveau glass canopy that arches over an open central courtyard. Completed in eighteen forty-one, the structure originally served as a warehouse and office space for merchants trading in the Americas. When the building fell into disrepair during the twentieth century, developers kept the ornate facade while gutting the interior to create a retail space. A fountain once sat in the middle of the atrium, but it was removed to accommodate the steady flow of modern shoppers.
