Savannah Stone Stairs Of Death

The Savannah Stone Stairs of Death are a series of jagged, uneven granite steps tucked into the side of the bluff near the river. They were cut directly into the rock in the early nineteenth century to create a shortcut for workers hauling heavy cargo from the docks. A laborer named George once slipped on the slick stone while carrying a crate of indigo and tumbled all the way down, breaking his leg and ending his career in the port instantly.
