Hamilton-Turner Inn

The Hamilton-Turner Inn rises at the corner of Franklin Square with a mansard roof and ornate ironwork that anchors the Victorian architecture of Savannah. Samuel Pugh Hamilton, a wealthy jeweler, commissioned the mansion in eighteen seventy-three as a display of his success. Years later, Joe Odom turned the basement into a raucous piano bar that rattled the neighborhood. When the city eventually shut it down, the building returned to its original status as an elegant private home and later an inn.
