The Pei Ling Chan Gallery features a facade of rough-hewn, oversized stones that contrast with the smooth brickwork typical of the South Historic District. Before the Savannah College of Art and Design acquired this site, it served as a grocery warehouse and later a home for the city's Chinese Cultural Association. Pei Ling Chan, a prominent local benefactor, funded the restoration of the structure in the nineteen nineties. Today, the gallery operates as an exhibition space for students and international artists.
