RathausGalerien

The RathausGalerien occupies a glass-enclosed block in the center of Innsbruck, marked by a sleek, transparent dome that rises above the surrounding medieval rooftops. This shopping and office complex replaced the old city hall, which burned down in the mid-nineteenth century. In the late nineteen nineties, architect Dominique Perrault designed this structure to house city administration alongside commercial spaces. Beneath the steel and glass, a hidden staircase connects the public galleries to the town hall offices tucked away behind the modern facade.
