The Crystal features a faceted, transparent glass roof that mimics a giant gemstone hovering above the street. Designed by Henning Larsen Architects and completed in two thousand ten, it functions as the headquarters for Nykredit. Its structural steel frame allows the building to sit on a narrow footprint, elevating the office space to capture maximum daylight. During the winter months, the geometry of the roof reflects the low sun, while the glass skin regulates the internal climate for those working inside.
