The Bäckerei Konditorei Café Nast features a distinct dark wood facade with gold lettering that stands out against the pale stone of the surrounding city hall district. Founded in nineteen twenty-four by Wilhelm Nast, this family business survived the destruction of the city center during the second world war. Wilhelm moved the operation to a cellar nearby to keep baking for his customers while the main streets were rebuilt. Today, it remains a family-run institution serving traditional Swabian cakes and coffee.
