Weinhaus Stetter -Weinhandel & Weinstube

The Weinhaus Stetter sits in a low, timber-framed building that survived the intense bombing of nineteen forty-four, when most of the surrounding Stuttgart city center was leveled. While the rest of the square was rebuilt in modern concrete, this house kept its seventeenth-century facade and narrow layout. Christian Gottlob Stetter opened his wine shop here in eighteen eighty-one. His descendants still run the business, pouring local Trollinger and Riesling in a room where the wood paneling has darkened over many generations of smoke.
