Katona József u 28

other

The corner of Katona József and Pozsonyi streets features a distinctive building with a curved, light-colored facade that follows the bend of the road. This apartment house was designed by architect Béla Málnai and completed in nineteen twelve. Málnai rejected the flowing, organic shapes popular at the time for a sharper, more geometric style. He included recessed balconies and a rhythmic row of windows that give the building its structured, disciplined appearance. It remains a clear example of early modern Hungarian architecture.
