Rózsavölgyi Szalon

The Rózsavölgyi Szalon occupies the mezzanine of an elegant Art Nouveau building on Szervita Square. It began in eighteen fifty as a music shop founded by Norbert Rozsavolgyi, a composer who specialized in the csardas. His store became the primary publisher for Hungarian composers like Liszt and Bartok. Today, the space functions as a theater and literary cafe. In nineteen thirteen, when the current building was completed, the shop shelves held thousands of sheet music scores instead of the stage lights used now.
