Merchants sit on raised platforms in front of their stalls, selling traditional Udaipur turbans and silver jewelry crafted in the workshops behind them. In the nineteenth century, this path served as the route for royal processions, forcing the residents to keep their front-facing windows barred and shuttered to protect the privacy of the street.
