Nassauer Haus

The Nassauer Haus stands out as the only medieval residential tower house remaining in Nuremberg. Its sandstone facade features a distinctive corner oriel and a series of heraldic shields carved directly into the stone. While the lower walls date back to the twelfth century, the upper floors were added in the fourteenth. A local legend claims that King Adolf of Nassau stayed here during a visit in twelve ninety-six, though records show the building actually served as a private residence for wealthy city patricians.
