Narrenschiffbrunnen

The Narrenschiffbrunnen features bronze figures struggling to navigate a ship of fools, a dark and humorous take on human folly based on a famous satirical poem. Sculptor Jürgen Weber designed the fountain in nineteen eighty-four, taking direct inspiration from Sebastian Brant's fifteenth-century work. Water pours from the hull, while the characters aboard quarrel, gamble, and lose their way. It serves as a sharp reminder of the city's literary heritage, standing as a contrast to the otherwise quiet pedestrian streets nearby.
