Gänsemännchenbrunnen

The Gänsemännchenbrunnen features a bronze peasant carrying two geese by their necks, with water streaming from their beaks into an octagonal basin. Created by sculptor Pankraz Labenwolf in fifteen fifty, it serves as a fountain for the local market. Legend says the farmer holds the geese to represent the modest life of Nuremberg traders. After the original fountain was moved to the town hall for protection, this version took its place, maintaining the image of the man and his birds.
