Can Catlar (Cal Marqués del Palmer)

The gothic courtyard of Can Catlar features an unusual, wide arch that spans almost the entire width of the space, supported by a single, slender octagonal pillar. This residence, often called Cal Marqués del Palmer, served as the ancestral home for the noble Palmer family. During the sixteen hundreds, the nobleman Gabriel de Palmer held a bitter, long-standing legal feud with his neighbors over the precise boundaries of this courtyard, a dispute that consumed years of his life and dozens of court petitions.
