Can Vivot

historic

The facade of Can Vivot is defined by its massive, sculpted stone portal and the heavy, studded wooden doors that seem to swallow the light of the narrow street. This seventeenth century manor house belonged to the Despuig family, who moved here after the Catalan conquest of Mallorca. The interior courtyard holds a marble staircase and a collection of family portraits that document centuries of aristocratic life. Ramon Despuig, a Grand Master of the Order of Malta, once managed the affairs of his Mediterranean fleet from these rooms.
