The Passeig de Sagrera stretches along the harbor, defined by the towering, honey-colored facade of La Lonja. Built in the fifteenth century, this gothic hall served as the headquarters for the island’s merchants. Guillem Sagrera designed the structure to regulate maritime trade, filling the interior with six slender, spiraling columns that seem to reach endlessly toward the vaulted stone ceiling. Centuries ago, traders met here to sign contracts under the watchful eyes of the stone angels carved into the portal.
