Consolat de Mar

other

The Consolat de Mar sits near the harbor with a long, stone loggia featuring rounded arches that face the water. Built in the seventeenth century, this building served as the headquarters for the maritime court that regulated Mediterranean trade. Sailors and merchants once gathered here to settle disputes over cargo and contracts. Today, it serves as the official seat of the President of the Balearic Islands, housing administrative offices behind those same arches where local sea captains once argued their cases before the judges.
