Vidaltex

The Vidaltex building stands out with its industrial, weathered facade that marks a shift from the typical stone architecture of Palma. It served as a textile factory for the Vidal family, who brought mechanized spinning and weaving to the island in the mid-twentieth century. Workers produced cotton goods here for decades, filling the neighborhood with the steady hum of machinery. Today, the structure remains a remnant of the island’s brief but intense period of industrialization before tourism became the dominant local economy.
